What if I don’t smoke?
That’s totally ok! You do not need to smoke to fully participate in this course.
In Portal One, you’ll learn about smoking. This is an excellent way to teach you the anatomy and safety of smoke in general. It’s a good foundation. We’ll make blends that can be used for either smoking or burning.
The following 4 portals have nothing to do with smoking whatsoever.
Basically — it’s not all about smoking.
WHAT IF I’M COMPLETELY NEW TO HERBALISM & MAGIC? WILL I BE CONFUSED?
All you need is an interest in magic and a love of plants. Most people who take this course have very little experience with magic, and some experience with herbs. All levels are welcome!

I use smoke magic for everything from getting writing advice to clearing my home to fumigating my furniture. I travel to the Otherworld to get advice about major life choices, or sometimes just to dance.
I’ve been working with plants for years, first as a veggie farmer, then as an herb farmer and medicine-maker, until I switched to teaching full-time in 2017.
Locust Light Farm is both a physical space — the Apothecary Garden — and an online space in which we honor the Wheel of the Year, celebrate the seasons, and connect with the magic & medicine of the plant world.
